Edmonton Oilers Rookie Camp Now Open!

The Edmonton Oilers have started their 5-day rookie camp in which our rookies will be battling it out for an invitation to the Oilers main training camp.  The list of attendees will include Oilers rookies, draft choices, free agents, and invited players.

Here is the schedule:

Monday, September 7th, 2009

9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. – Practice – Rexall Place
10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. – Scrimmage – Rexall Place

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. – Practice – Rexall Place
10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. – Scrimmage – Rexall Place
As for the main Oilers’ training camp, it will start on Saturday, September 12, with the first on-ice session open to the public on Sunday, September 13th.  The Oilers’ 30th NHL training camp will start off with players undergoing medicals as well as fitness testing at Rexall Place. The Oilers’ second preseason game will be scheduled on Tuesday, September 16th vs. the New York Islanders (read John Tavares) in Edmonton.  Wow, we’ll be one of the first teams to host John Tavares in an NHL preseason game!
